KELWONA, BC – Kelowna-based Tree Brewing makes beer with character and this time it dialed it up an extra notch with its newest brew, Hop Head Double India Pale Ale. This occasional rarity brew, set for release Mid-December, is not for just anyone. Hophead aficionados looking for a little more will enjoy celebrating the holiday season with this unique creation by Brewmaster Stefan Buhl.
With five different varieties of superior hops, Hop Head Double IPA (8.0 ABV) packs in the hoppy bitterness like no other. Similar to its award-winning, best-selling little brother, Hop Head IPA, Hop Head Double IPA also boasts citrus aromas and sweet malt undertones with a slightly darker, copper colour. This strong hops taste pairs well with a flavourful meal or sweet dessert.
“I have always wanted to create a Double IPA. I am very pleased with the results and I think our Hop Head fans will wish we made a bigger batch!” says German-born Stefan Buhl, Brewmaster at Tree for the past eight years. Over the years, Buhl has had the opportunity to develop countless creations, experimenting with the best ingredients in a craft brewery in the beautiful interior of British Columbia.
This occasional rarity brew will be available in Mid-December in 650 ml bottles at beer stores throughout BC and Alberta for a limited time.
