Cassel Brewery Planning to Open in 2012

CASSELMAN, ON – Eastern Ontario will soon be welcoming another local craft brewery, as Cassel Brewery is getting set to open in the small village of Casselman in June 2012.

Brewery founder Mario Bourgeois tells CBN that his flagship beer will be Golden Rails Honey Ale, a brew with a flavour profile intended to “make honey malt the star of the show”. Other Cassel beers will include White Fog (“a slightly off style Belgian Witbier”), Lil’ Red Steamer Red Ale and Black Express Stout.

Bourgeois also notes that the branding of the brewery is based around the first train that travelled through Casselman on the rail route that still runs between Ottawa and Montreal.

More details about Cassel Brewery and its beers will be announced here on CBN as the launch draws closer.
