VANCOUVER, BC – The 2013 edition of Vancouver Craft Beer Week (VCBW) is taking place on May 31st to June 8th, and as in past years, once of the highlights of the week will be the release of a new one-off beer created as a collaboration between many of British Columbia’s top craft breweries.
The production of this year’s edition of the official VCBW beer will be taking place tomorrow (Friday March 22nd) at Parallel 49 Brewing, where brewers and representatives from more than 30 BC breweries will gather to create the beer, with Graham With of Parallel 49 and James Walton of Storm Brewing taking the lead.
The VCBW 2013 beer will be a traditional German Altbier, brewed using grains donated by Country Malting and BC grown hops donated by Hops Connect. It will be available during VCBW on tap at various participating venues, and a limited run of 650 ml bottles at select private liquor stores. Partial proceeds from the sales of the beer will be donated to the Save on Meats Breakfast Token Program.
Sounds fantastic. I am sure hoping to get my hands on some bombers for our store!
