SWIFT CURRENT, SK – Edmonton-based beer writer Jason Foster reports via his On Beer blog that a new brewery will soon be setting up shop in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.
Black Bridge Brewery is being established by the husband-and-wife team of Clayton and Kari Stenson, the former being a veteran homebrewer who has wanted to make the jump to commercial brewing for several years.
The pair are currently overseeing construction of a 20-hectolitre brewhouse, which they hope to have in operation by early 2014. They are aiming to launch with four flagship brands that are “influenced by the Northwest U.S. and Belgian styles,” and will also offer seasonals and one-offs on a periodic basis, with distribution planned to cover Saskatchewan and Alberta.
