TOBERMORY, ON – The Wiarton Echo reports that a small brewery and restaurant is aiming to open early next year in the town of Tobermory on Ontario’s Bruce Peninsula.
Tobermory Brewing Company & Grill is being founded by Matt and Kristin Buckley, a husband and wife team originally from London, Ontario who now call Tobermory home.
According to Matt, the brewery will be starting cautiously with a flagship lager and an IPA, but other brands are expected to follow, including a cider. If all goes as planned, the brewery and restaurant will be open in April 2015.
As the couple tells the paper, they intend to support and promote other local producers and businesses as much as possible, with a focus on local food at the restaurant, and brewing equipment sourced from a supplier in nearby Walkerton. Even head brewer Morag Kloeze is local, coming from Owen Sound.
