TRURO, NS – The Truro Daily News reports that The Nook & Cranny, a pub and eatery known for supporting craft beer and local food, has announced plans to start offering house-brewed beers later this year.
Co-owner Derek Forsyth tells the paper that the establishment has a brewing system on order that should be installed in May, and that brewing will start soon after with the assistance of Brian Watson, a veteran brewmaster with years of experience consulting on new brewing operations.
There are plans to have three house beers available, including a “safe, light, crisp” beer for less adventurous drinkers, a darker variety, and a wheat beer that will rotate through various seasonal flavours using fruit sourced from local farms and suppliers. In addition to on-site draught sales, all of the beers will be available in growlers for take-home purchase.
