WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Sun reports that Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries has announced that markups on products from small and medium sized breweries will soon be reduced, a move that is being welcomed by brewery owners in the province.
For the smallest breweries – those that produce less than 2,000 hectolitres a year – the drop will be most significant, with the current 25% rate dropping for 10% for draught product, and 12% for bottled.
Less substantial reductions will be applied on a sliding scale to breweries producing up to 37,000 hectolitres annually, with those above that threshold retaining current rates.
The new rates will go into effect on April 1st 2016. See the full Winnipeg Sun story and the Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries media release for more details.
