POWELL RIVER, BC – Townsite Brewing has announced the release of the next instalment in a series of beers inspired by a unique local landmark.
The Hulks Series is named after a group of ships known as “The Hulks” that make up a floating breakwater in the Powell River near the brewery.
The series was initiated in 2012 with a Belgian Tripel called Charleston – which was subsequently promoted to become an annual seasonal release – and continued in 2013 with another Tripel called YOGN 82, in 2014 with Cardena Belgian Quad, and in 2015 with Le Chatelier Belgian Sour Ale.
For the 5th annual release, the series offers Peralta Wild Pale Ale, a 6.2% abv hoppy ale that has been bottle conditioned with Brettanomyces bruxellensis.
“I took inspiration for this beer from one of the Belgian greats; Orval,” explains Brewmaster Cédric Dauchot. “It’s a pale ale, fermented with a Belgian yeast strain, dry hopped and then bottle conditioned with Brett.”
Townsite Peralta will be available in 650 ml bottles at select private liquor stores in British Columbia for a limited time.
