CALGARY, AB – Beer festivals always present a great opportunity for new breweries to get their name in front of their target market, and thanks to rapid growth of Alberta’s craft brewing scene, this year’s edition of the Calgary International Beerfest – taking place May 6th and 7th at BMO Centre – will feature at least four local breweries that will be offering their products to the public for the very first time.
As reported by The Daily Beer, the list of brand new breweries launching at the event includes:
- Banded Peak Brewing – Just days before officially opening, Banded Peak will be bringing Summit Seeker IPA and Plainsbreaker Hopped Wheat Ale to the festival.
- Cold Garden Beverage Co. – Previewing its soft launch later this month, Cold Garden will have three summer seasonals available: a pineapple-infused India Blonde Ale, a kettle-soured Robust Porter, and an American Blonde Ale with raspberries.
- Common Crown Brewing – In advance of a planned June opening, Common Crown will be pouring three beers – Brew Master Blond Ale, Journeyman IPA and Coppersmith Brown Ale – brewed under contact at Dandy Brewing.
- Trolley Five Brewing – The opening of this new brewpub is at least a few months away, but it will be giving an early taste of Derailed Pale Ale to festival attendees.
