Canmore Brewing Opening This Week in Alberta

CANMORE, ABThe Bow Valley Crag & Canyon reports that the town of Canmore in Alberta’s Bow Valley is about to see the opening of an eponymous brewery.

Canmore Brewing is getting set to open to the public this week at 1460 Railway Avenue, with co-owner Brian Dunn telling the paper that head brewer Darren Steffler and brewing consultant David Neilly have prepared four beers for launch: Ten Peaks Pale Ale (“an innocent introduction to craft beer with its sweet and lightly hopped flavour”), Georgetown Brown Ale (“has a sweet caramel-ly finish”), Railway Avenue Rye India Pale Ale (“an amber-coloured hoppy yet mild IPA”), and Mineside Stout (“a cross between a milk and cream stout”).

The brewery shares a building with RAW Distillery, a spirits maker that will soon be releasing its initial bottles of vodka and gin. Dunn views this as a positive partnership, noting that “if you can give two different types of drinkers something to go for then there’s more likelihood of somebody coming in.”

The official opening date for Canmore Brewing has yet to be announced, but is expected to be noted on the brewery’s website and Facebook page once confirmed.
