KELWONA, BC – Tree Brewing has threatened legal action against Green Flash Brewing of San Diego, CA over the distribution of Green Flash Hop Head Red Ale in British Columbia.
According to Managing Director Tod Melnyk, Tree felt that the name of the Green Flash beer was too similar to Tree Hop Head IPA, and that they needed to protect their trademark. Upon contact by Tree’s lawyer regarding the issue, Green Flash made the decision to stop shipping their beer to BC, heading off a potential court battle.
