Garrison Spruce Beer Due Out In Time For Christmas

HALIFAX, NSGarrison Brewing has revealed via their Facebook and Twitter pages that brewmaster Daniel Girard is in the midst of brewing a Spruce Beer for the holidays.

Girard told Great Canadian Beer Blog that the beer will be a 7.5% strong ale brewed with “the outer 4-6 inches of spruce and fir branches for aroma and flavours plus molasses and dates for sugars.”

Garrison president Brian Titus added that the beer will be “dark with some residual sweetness, [which] should make for a rich and intensely flavourful mid-winter brew,” and that it will be “like running naked through an Acadian forest – pretty intense!”

If all goes as planned, Garrison Spruce Beer will be bottled and available at the brewery next weekend.
