CHARLOTTETOWN, PE & VICTORIA, BC – Fall is traditionally the season for pumpkin ales, and in addition to many returning favourites from breweries all across the country, there are a few new ones being debuted this year as well.
One of the new arrivals comes from the Gahan House Pub & Brewery in Charlottetown, PEI where Gahan Pumpkin Beer will be going on tap this Monday, October 24th. In addition to being fit for the season, this new brew is made with several local ingredients – including pumpkins from Marshfield, PEI, and hops grown in Breadalbane, PEI – and is flavoured with cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, ginger and brown sugar.
Meanwhile, across the country on the west coast, Spinnakers Gastro Brewpub in Victoria, BC has just tapped their own Dark Roasted Pumpkin Ale. The recipe uses locally grown sugar pumpkins that are roasted and spiced with nutmeg, allspice, ginger and cinnamon.
Both brews will remain on tap at their respective brewpubs while supplies last.
