CALGARY, AB – On Saturday November 19th, Paul Gautreau – brewmaster at Big Rock Brewery – will be welcoming his peers from other Alberta breweries into his brewhouse, where the group will be collaborating on this year’s edition of a special charity brew.
Launched in 2009 at Grizzly Paw Brewing in Canmore, and followed up last year at Alley Kat Brewing in Edmonton, Unity Brew is an annual collaborative beer that raises money for a variety of Alberta charities. Proceeds from last year’s brew supported the Kidney Foundation of Alberta, Canmore and Jasper food banks, and the World Cup Academy.
Breweries participating in this year’s brewing session in addition to Big Rock, Alley Kat and Grizzly Paw will include Wild Rose Brewery (Calgary), Brew Brothers (Calgary), Drummond Brewing (Red Deer), Banff Avenue Brewing (Banff), Jasper Brewing (Jasper) and Brewsters Brewing (Calgary and Edmonton). Details on the style and release plans for the beer will be announced at a later date.
