Steamworks Releases Limited Edition Brew to Mark 100th Anniversary of The Vancouver Sun

VANCOUVER, BC – According to Vancouver Sun food and drink writer Randy Shore – aka The Green Man – local brewpub Steamworks Brewing Company is a favourite hangout for many Sun staffers. So when it came time to brew a beer to mark the paper’s 100th anniversary, it only made sense for Steamworks to do the honours.

The beer was crafted a few weeks ago by Steamworks brewers Conrad Gmoser and Tak Guenette, with Shore lending a hand, and the resulting brew – an Extra Special Bitter named Copper Roof Ale in honour of faux copper roof on the original Vancouver Sun building – was put on tap at the brewpub for the first time yesterday (May 10th).

According to Shore’s latest article, the beer is expected to be available for three weeks – or “possibly less after The Vancouver Sun/Steamworks staff party.”
