EDMONTON, AB – Sherbrooke Liquor has long been known for having the largest retail selection of beer in Canada, and now they’ve reached an important and impressive milestone, with an announcement this week that they have 1000 distinct brands available on their shelves.
To mark this momentous occasion, Sherbrooke has teamed up with Alley Kat Brewing for the latest in a series of limited edition collaborative brews. Big Kahuna 1K is a sour ale with cherries that is described by Alley Kat’s Neil Herbst as follows:
1K was brewed with a two-row and crystal malt base. We first soured it by fermenting with lactobacillus. This was followed by the addition of sweet cherries and then fermentation with our ale yeast. After fermentation was compete the beer was filtered, carbonated, and bottled.
Big Kahuna 1K will be on sale at Sherbrooke starting tomorrow (July 13th). It will also be available at select bars and restaurants in Edmonton for a limited time.
