The first is the Sessions Cask Ale Festival at the Arrow & Loon Pub (99 Fifth Ave., Ottawa) on Sunday August 12th. Featuring a selection of cask ales from a variety of craft breweries, the event will feature two tasting sessions – 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM, and 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM – with admission tickets for each session available for $5 in advance at the pub, or $8 at the door.
Later in the week, on Friday August 17th, beer writer Stephen Beaumont will be hosting a beer pairing dinner in The Capital Dining Room at the National Hotel (361 Queen St., Ottawa). The six course meal featuring beer pairings hand picked by Beaumont will be limited to 60 guests, with the $120 price including admission to the National Capital Craft Beer Festival on Saturday August 18th.
