Kichesippi Kicks Off Family Beer Series With Uncle Mark’s Hopfen Weisse

OTTAWA, ONKichesippi Beer Co. has announced the launch of a new series of limited edition beers, the first of which is being released this week as part of National Capital Craft Beer Week.

The Kichesippi Family Beer Series will feature unique beers named after relatives of brewery owners Paul and Kelly Meek. The first beer in the series is Uncle Mark’s Hopfen Weisse, named after Kelly’s brother Mark in honour of his 50th birthday this month. It’s described as “a traditional German Hefeweizen with much more of a hop characteristic to it, both in aroma and bitterness.”

Uncle Mark’s Hopfen Weisse will be available in growlers at the Kichesippi retail store starting tomorrow (August 15th), and it will also be served at the National Craft Beer Festival this weekend. It will remain available while supplies last, and will return again sometime in the summer of 2013 along with a second beer in the series.

  1. Congrats Paul and Kelly and also “Uncle Mark” The caricature of Mark is great!! Sending info on to my granddaughter in Ottawa (recent Honors Grad from Carleton and starts Masters at Univ. of Ottawa, all in International Relations) Maybe she and some Kichesippi Beer will right the wrongs of the world, eh?
