TORONTO, ON – Steam Whistle Brewing has announced the start of growler sales at its retail store, and has also unveiled plans for this year’s Oktoberfest celebrations.
As shown in the accompanying photo, the growlers are custom-made 64 ounce jugs with a metal handle, pewter logo medallion and ceramic flip top. They’re filled with a Pegas Craftap bottle filling system that uses a counter-pressure of carbon dioxide, meaning the beer will remain fresh for 2 to 3 weeks before opening if kept refrigerated.
The unique growlers are available now at the Steam Whistle retail store for $39.95, and can be brought back to refill for $11.95.
Also announced this week were details of the popular Steam Whistle Oktoberfest event and associated promotions. The Oktoberfest party will take place at the brewery on Saturday September 29th from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with the $25 admission cost including a 1 litre stein of Steam Whistle Pilsner, German-style food, and live entertainment. The brewery is also giving away an “Oktoberfest Experience” package via Facebook that includes airfare to Toronto, two nights in a hotel, a private brewery tour, tasting and beer dinner, and VIP access to the Oktoberfest event.
For those not able to make it to the main event, Steam Whistle has partnered with bars and restaurants throughout Ontario, Alberta & BC who will be offering 1 litre steins of Steam Whistle in take home steins. And the stein is also featured along with two 500 ml cans of Steam Whistle Pilsner in an Oktoberfest Gift Pack that will be available for $14.95 at select LCBO outlets in September and October.
