NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE, ON – Just as the third year of classes at the Niagara College Brewmaster Program have started, the two flagship beers brewed by students in the program – First Draft Campus Lager and First Draft Campus Ale – are now on the shelves at the LCBO.
Previously available exclusively at the retail store at the Niagara College Teaching Brewery, the two beers have the following tasting notes:
Campus Lager: A Fresh Canadian Lager, brewed using the finest two row Pilsner, Carafoam and Munich malts to give a golden straw colour and regular strength but with a light body. Imported German and American hops add a crisp noble hop character without overpowering the palate.
Campus Ale: A Canadian Pale Ale brewed using Canadian two row Pale Ale malt enhanced with English Maris Otter, a variety bred specifically for the production of cask ales. Balancing the medium bodied malt contribution is a mellow hop quality from a blend of traditional English ale and North American hops.
Both First Draft beers are available now at select LCBO outlets throughout Southern Ontario, where they sell for $12.00 per six-pack of bottles. Proceeds from the sales will support the Brewmaster Program, assisting both current and future students.
