BURLINGTON, ON – Nickel Brook Brewing has announced the release of Bertwell 80/- and Underground Pale Ale, two installments in a new Wet Hop Series of beers brewed using freshly harvested hops.
The following descriptions of the beers were provided by head brewer Ryan Morrow:
Bertwell 80/- is a typical Scottish style 80/- in terms of malt, it is then accented with wet Bertwell hops, the variety originally found in Prince Edward County in Ontario, now being grown at Harvest Hops and Malt in Guelph. The hops were used as a finishing hop and in dry hop
Underground Pale Ale is a hop forward American pale ale. The wet hops were provided from Underground Oragnics farm in Flamborough Ontario. The hops were also used as finishing and dry hops.
