TORONTO, ON – The Ontario Craft Brewers have announced the start of a new season of the Ontario Brewer Podcast, a twice-monthly series of online programs hosted by Mirella Amato of Beerology and featuring the many member breweries of the OCB.
For the 2012-13 season, the OCB has partnered with the Dairy Farmers of Canada to produce a series focused on beer and cheese pairing. As described in a press release:
In the first half of each podcast, Mirella and an Ontario Craft Brewer will taste beer and focus on a specific ingredient found in the beer, how it is used and what it adds to the brew. In the second half of the podcast, Mirella and the brewer will be joined by a regional cheese expert for an audio tasting of craft beer along with a variety of cheeses supplied by a variety of cheese makers from Dairy Farmers of Canada. The group will mix and match different beers with a variety of cheeses and discuss how the flavours work and why.
The first two part podcast of the new season is online now, and features Grand River Brewing partnered with Mountainoak Cheese. Future installments will include Beau’s All Natural Brewery, Clocktower Brewpub, Lake of Bays Brewery, King Brewery, Granite Brewery, Nickel Brook, Mill Street Brewery, Muskoka Brewery, Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery and Amsterdam Brewery.
