VANCOUVER, BC & SURREY, BC – Two BC breweries, Steamworks and Central City, have announced the retail release of stouts that were previously available exclusively at their respective brewpubs.
Steamworks Oatmeal Stout is available until March in 650 ml bottles, and is described as follows:
As the newest addition to the list of bottled beer, Steamworks is proving that oatmeal doesn’t have to be boring, inviting beer lovers far and wide to go for a roll in their Oatmeal Stout. Brewed with a generous portion of steel-cut oats and lots of black roasted barley, the Oatmeal Stout has a warm, roasted nose that succumbs to smooth waves of lingering satisfaction – it’s the new breakfast of champions!
From Central City comes the latest addition to the Red Racer line of packaged beers, the seasonal Red Racer Stout:
One of the few stouts available in a can, this smooth Irish-style stout is deep, dark and full bodied. The use of oatmeal in the mashtun adds silkiness to the texture and body in this ale. Roasted barley, as well as pale, black, chocolate and crystal malts round off one of our richest creations to date.
Both beers are available now at BC Liquor stores and in select private shops. Steamworks Oatmeal Stout is sold in individual bottles, and Red Racer Stout in six packs of cans, as well as in the latest Red Racer Seasonal Selections mixed twelve pack.
BC liquor stores website does not list the Steamworks stout as of Nov 19
