SMITHERS, BC – Plan B Brewing owner Mark Gillis has announced in his latest newsletter that the award-winning nano-brewery will be closing its doors in early 2013.
From the announcement:
For the past three-and-a-half years, I have spent my time operating Plan B Brewing, crafting a variety of beers. I’ve tremendously enjoyed creating the brews and meeting all of you. After a long decision making process and weighing my options, I have decided to close Plan B Brewing in early 2013. The reasons are many and when everything is looked at together the best option for me is to close the brewery. I know most of you will be saddened by this news but, while it is an extremely tough decision, I know that this is what’s best for myself and my family.
The newsletter goes on to note that the beers currently in stock – including the recently released Bugwood Espresso Porter, brewed in collaboration with local cafe Bugwood Bean – will continue to be sold while supplies last. The brewery shop will be operating on slightly reduced hours, and Gillis expects all stock to be depleted by early January.
