ERIEAU, ON – The municipality of Chatham-Kent in Southwestern Ontario is home to the province’s newest brewpub, with the recent opening of Bayside Brewing.
Located in Erieau, a small village on the shore of Lake Erie, Bayside has set up shop in an historic century-old building that has been renovated to house the brewery and restaurant.
Currently running on a 50 hectolitre system, the brewery is offering two initial brands – Long Pond Lager, made with Canadian malt and German & Czech hops, and Bayside Light Lager – with more to be added in early 2013. Both current brands are available on tap and in growlers at Bayside, and Long Pond Lager is also available at a number of other pubs and restaurants throughout Chatham-Kent.
A full food menu is also available at Bayside, with many ingredients sourced locally. Items on offer include sandwiches, burgers, pastas, and pub standards like fish & chips and shepherds pie, plus gourmet pizzas from a wood-fired oven.
Bayside Brewing is from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily for beer sampling and growler sales, with the restaurant opening at 12:00 noon each day. More details can be found on the recently launched Bayside Brewing website.
Just returned home from a great meal at Bayside! The wood fired pizza is superb…really compliments the Long Pond Lager!
