TORONTO, ON – It might be bit past the end of the official anniversary year, but that isn’t stopping Great Lakes Brewery from releasing the fourth and final instalment in their 25th Anniversary Series of limited edition beers later this month.
GLB’s 25th Anniversary Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout is a 10% abv “malt monster” that has been aged in bourbon barrels procured directly from distilleries in Kentucky. The resulting beer is described as follows:
Flavours of dark roasted malt, coffee and chocolate are complemented by the unique oaky and slightly sweet notes of barrel aged bourbon. This will be a beer to remember and what better way than to age a few bottles at home over the next year or two to share with friends on a cold winter’s night.
A limited number of bottles of the Stout will be available in late January at the brewery and at select LCBO locations.
It will also one of the beers featured at a special Valentine’s Day edition of the monthly Great Lakes Project X series, this one set to be a beer dinner co-presented by Canadian Beer News. Watch for more details to be announced soon.
