TORONTO, ON – Details have been announced for the 2013 edition of Brewers Plate Toronto, an annual charity event that brings together some of Ontario’s top chefs and craft brewers in a celebration of local and sustainable food and drink.
Taking place on Wednesday April 17th at the Barbara Frum Atrium in the CBC Building (250 Front St. W., Toronto), this year’s edition will benefit Not Far From The Tree, an organization that facilitates the picking of urban fruit that would otherwise go to waste and shares it between local food banks and their volunteer harvesters.
Breweries participating in this year’s event will include Barley Days, Beau’s, Black Oak, Cameron’s, Denison’s, Grand River, Great Lakes, HogsBack, Mill Street, Nickel Brook, Neustadt Springs, Railway City, Steam Whistle and Wellington, with more to be announced.
Providing the food to pair with the beer will be chefs Lora Kirk (RubyWatchco), Brad Long (Café Belong), Chris McDonald (Cava), Mark Cutrara (Cowbell), Brook Kavanagh (La Palette), Joseph Aaron Bear Robe (Keriwa Café), Av Atikian (JAM Café), Michael Smith (The Gladstone Hotel) and many more to come. Also on hand will be several artisanal food producers and vendors including Maple Dale Cheese, Monforte Dairy, Chocosol, Magical Catering, Ninutik Maple Sugar, Daily Apple, Wanda’s Pie in the Sky, and Evelyn’s Crackers
Tickets for Brewers Plate 2013 are available now via the event website for $125 plus service charges. The event typically sells out each year, so early purchase is recommended.
