HALIFAX, NS – Propeller Brewing has announced the return of a popular spring seasonal, as well as the start of a new annual series of its One-Hit Wonder one-off releases.
The seasonal brew making an appearance for a second year is Propeller Double IPA, which is described as follows:
Propeller Double IPA is a full bodied, American style Double India Pale Ale that is brewed with premium Pacific Northwest hops and a rich blend of 2-row Pale and Crystal malts. Following fermentation it has been heavily dry hopped giving this bold brew its big west coast nose. Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavour from start to finish that is balanced by sweet malt flavours. At 8.2% alcohol by volume and 85 IBUs, Propeller Double IPA is not for everyone… It is a TRUE hop bomb, for TRUE hopheads.
Kicking off the One-Hit Wonder series for 2013 is Darkside Black IPA:
Darkside Black IPA (an American Style Black Ale), features the hop-forward profile of an IPA with a dark color and subtle roasted notes. A burst of fresh, citrus notes from Cascade and Centennial hops balance the hints of chocolate and roasted malts. Weighing in at 7% alcohol by volume and 70 IBU’s this brew displays a pleasantly dry finish.
Propeller Double IPA is available now in 500 ml bottles at the Prop Shop brewery retail store and at select NSLC outlets and private liquor stores in Nova Scotia. Darkside Black IPA is available exclusively in growlers at the Prop Shop.
