BRANDON, MB – As initially reported here on CBN last summer, Brandon Sun journalist Grant Hamilton has been spearheading a plan to convert an historic fire hall in downtown Brandon into a brewery and poutinerie (i.e. restaurant specializing in poutine and other pub grub).
Set to be called Brewtinerie, the project received a positive response from city council last fall based on an initial plan, and Hamilton is now working on a more detailed plan to be submitted for official approval.
As Hamilton noted in a Sun article published this past weekend, planning was put on hold for several months due to a trip out of the country, but with several others now involved in the project, he is hoping for a positive outcome when full details are provided to the city.
The official plan is due to be filed in a couple of weeks, and it will be posted to the Brewtinerie website at the same time.
