TORONTO, ON – Spearhead Brewing has announced the upcoming release of a new big brother beer for their flagship Hawaiian Style Pale Ale.
Big Kahuna Imperial IPA is a 10% abv and 100 IBU palate-punisher that is described as follows:
Like its little brother Hawaiian Style Pale Ale, Big Kahuna is brewed with pure pineapple juice. At 100 IBUs, it explodes with Warrior and Cascade hops, and is double dry hopped with Cascade and Nelson Sauvin hops. This massive beer is unfiltered with a delicate carbonation and complex flavour and bouquet. It has a big bold character reflective of its namesake and refreshingly floral, tropical finish. Say ‘aloha’ to our big friend!
While not yet ready for wide release, a sneak peek event for the new beer will take place next Friday April 12th at the Victory Cafe (581 Markham St., Toronto) starting ar 6:00 PM. Two different versions of the beer – one dry hopped with Cascade, the other with Nelson Sauvin – will be available, and attendees will be asked for their feedback to help Spearhead tweak the recipe for the official launch later this year.
