TORONTO, ON – Scotland’s Innis & Gunn has announced details of five new beers that will be launched in Canada through the spring and summer months, including two limited edition barrel-aged ales and a new line of flavoured craft lagers.
For the fifth year in a row, I&G will be thanking Canadian beer drinkers for their support with a special beer to celebrate Canada Day. This year’s edition is Innis & Gunn Canadian Cherrywood Beer, an 8.3% abv ale that is the first in the annual series to not be aged in oak:
Strong, sweet and full bodied, we matured this Limited Edition Innis & Gunn over Canadian Black Cherrywood and then finished it before bottling with a touch of maple syrup to give it a sweet, toasty twist.
Canadian Cherrywood will be available soon in BC, AB, SK, MB, ON, NB and NS, with price starting at $4.95 per 330ml bottle. Each bottle is packaged in a gift box decorated with the oil painting “Forest Spectrum” by BC artist Tatianna O’Donnell.
Also coming soon is Innis & Gunn Scottish Pale Ale, a new addition to the brewery’s seasonal range:
Given our nation’s climate, the words ‘Scottish’ and ‘pale’ fit hand in glove. For the second of our seasonal beers in 2013, we drew from historical recipes to craft this carefully balanced pale ale. Light and vibrant with fresh floral and citrus notes, it’s perfect for whiling away precious spells of sunshine.
Scottish Pale Ale will be available in BC, AB, SK, ON and NB starting late May or early June, and in NS starting July. It will also be available on draught in Ontario.
Joining these new arrivals from the main I&G brand are three beers in the I&G-owned Melville’s Craft Lager range – Melville’s Strawberry, Melville’s Raspberry and Melville’s Ginger Beer.
All three Melville’s beers start with a lager made with barley, hops, yeast and water and no additives. Each is then flavoured with Jubilee strawberries, Glen Ample raspberries, or fresh stem ginger, with no artificial flavours.
The Melville’s line-up is available now in the following provinces:
Strawberry – BC, AB, SK, MN, ON, NL, NB
Raspberry – BC, AB, SK, ON, NL, NB
Ginger – BC, AB, ON, NB
Each Melville’s beer is available in 4-packs of 275 ml bottles, with price starting at $9.95 per pack.
Haven’t found these in BC yet as of June 11
Hi Derek,
I’m pleased to say that our Canadian Cherrywood Finish is available in BC Liquor Stores. Find a stockist near you using this link http://www.bcliquorstores.com/product/381848
Our Scottish Pale Ale is available through some private liquor stores in BC. I don’t have a list of these right now unfortunately.
Cheers
Have not seen the new Innis & Gunn in Saskatchewan yet, specifically Regina.
Hi Cary,

As for Scottish Pale Ale, unfortunately the SLGA did not place an order.
