VICTORIA, BC – Lighthouse Brewing has won three medals at the 21st annual Australian International Beer Awards (AIBAs), announced last week in Melbourne, Australia.
The Victoria-based brewery took a bronze medal in the Dry Stout category for Keeper’s Stout, a silver for Belgian Black in the Other Stout group, and a gold for Siren Red Ale in the Amber/Dark Ale category. The latter beer was also awarded the Major Trophy in its category, as sponsored by 3 Degrees Marketing.
The AIBAs are presented annually by the the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) and the University of Ballarat. For 2013, the competition featured over 1,480 beers from more than 230 brewers in 35 countries, an increase of 10 per cent on the previous year. Lighthouse was the only Canadian brewery to submit beer for the competition.
