LA SALETTE, ON – In a blog post published earlier this week, John Picard of Ramblin’ Road Brewery Farm revealed details of an upcoming beer that makes use of an ingredient rarely used in brewing.

Dakota Pearl Ale is a new golden ale fermented using sugars extracted from its namesake, the Dakota Pearl potato.

The same type of potato is used to make the Picard’s Extreme Kettle Chips that are produced in the Ramblin’ Road facility, and the sliced potatoes for the chips are washed in beer before they’re cooked, bringing the connection between the two products full circle.

More details about Dakota Pearl Ale and release plans for the beer are expected to be announced soon.
