VANKLEEK HILL, ON – Beau’s All Natural Brewing has announced details for the 5th anniversary edition of the always anticipated Beau’s Oktoberfest.
Taking place October 4th and 5th at the Vankleek Hill Fairgrounds, this year’s festival will include an assortment of Beau’s beers on tap – 9 in all, including a number of new and exclusive beers. Also happening this year for the first time will be a special homebrew competition presented by The Members of Barleyment, where attendees can sample and vote on their favourite homebrews for a People’s Choice Award.
More than 20 restaurants from across Ontario will be on hand to serve Bavarian- and locally-inspired food, and musical entertainment will include traditional Bavarian music by Canada’s Polka King Walter Ostanek and evening concerts from Sloan, Kathleen Edwards, The Sadies, The Mahones, Young Rival, The Balconies, and Rich Aucoin.
As a spin-off of the event, a selection of four Beau’s Oktoberfest beers – Oktobock, Smokin’ Banana Peels Rauch Weissbier, Mr. Hyde Roggenbier Meets RyePA, and Two Weeks’ Notice German Porter – will be released in a mixed pack at select LCBO outlets and the Beau’s retail store & delivery service in early September.
Early bird tickets for Beau’s Oktoberfest 2013 will go on sale on Thursday August 8th, with single day tickets priced at $22 and two-day passes at $38. Youth tickets for 18 and under are $5, and round-trip shuttle buses from Ottawa, Montreal and Cornwall are available for an additional $15. As always, a portion of the event proceeds will go to local charities, with this year’s recipients list including United Way Ottawa, Canadian Canoe Foundation, Kiva, Just Food, and the Vankleek Hill Agricultural Society.
