CANMORE, AB – Grizzly Paw Brewing has announced the opening of a new facility that has greatly increased the production capacity of the Canmore-based brewery.
Located at 310 Old Canmore Road, a short distance from the original Grizzly Paw brewpub location, the new brewery features a 35 hectolitre system with 280 hl of fermentation capacity and 140 hl of bright tank space – a big step up from the 10 hl brew system and 90 hl of fermenting capacity at the original brewery.
The new facility includes a new bottling line to run off bombers of Grizzly Paw brands, starting with Big Head Nut Brown and Beavertail Raspberry Ale, and a barrel room where beer is currently aging for fall release. Looking further ahead, the building has space for a small distillery, which is planned to be operational within the next five years.
This new capacity will allow Grizzly Paw to expand distribution of its main brands, with pushes into Edmonton and Saskatchewan planned for the summer, while the original brewhouse at the brewpub also remains in operation to produce seasonal and small batch beers.
