VICTORIA, BC – As part of a fundraising and awareness campaign for Broken Promises Animal Rescue, the Moon Under Water Brewpub has announced the upcoming release of two “beers” made especially for our canine friends.

The two beverages – Beef & Barley Dunkel and Chicken & Peanut Pilsner – are non-alcoholic with no carbonation or hops, but they do feature barley and other healthy dog-friendly ingredients.

“We wanted to create something that wasn’t just a gimmick, something that had some nutritional value added health benefits for dogs,” says Clay Potter, Moon Under Water’s co-owner and brewmaster. In addition to barley, the recipes include “beef and chicken stock as well as glucosamine and salmon oil for a healthy coat and joints.”

The two dog beers, which feature labels designed by Kristina Haugen with images of brewery dogs Brew and Phoenix, will be debuted this Saturday August 10th at the Moon Under Water (350B Bay Street, Victoria) with a launch party that will also double as a fundraiser for Broken Promises.
