VANCOUVER, BC – The 125th anniversary of Vancouver’s iconic Stanley Park is being marked this weekend with the Celebrate! Stanley Park festival, and as part of the festivities, the namesake event sponsor Stanley Park Brewery will be serving two brand new limited edition beers – Coal Harbour Cream Ale and Prospect Point Pale Ale.
The two new beers are described as follows:
Our Coal Harbour Cream Ale is an Belgian style Tafelbier of lower strength – and for good reason. Tafelbier was (and still is) enjoyed by Belgian families at meal time. This is the ultimate summer beer at 4.8% ABV. We dry hop with the highest grade Savinski Goldings whole hops, to deliver an enticing fruity hop aroma with a smooth toffee bittersweet finish.
Prospect Point Pale Ale begins with a distinctive blend of Pilsen and Crystal malts and malted wheat. Adding the finest English European hops, and a distinctive Belgian Strong Ale yeast contribute a citric and grassy hop aroma, with a bittersweet taste with long dry finish.
Both beers will be available alongside the core Stanley Park brands – Amber Ale, Pilsner and seasonal Witbier – in the licensed areas of Live at Second Beach, a festival zone that will feature an eclectic line-up of live music including headliners Born Ruffians (Saturday) and The Arkells (Sunday). Also in the area will be food and drink concessions, outdoor sports, and a licensed area with an acoustic stage spotlighting local singer-songwriters.
