BURLINGTON, ON – Nickel Brook Brewing and Sawdust City Brewing have announced the release of a new collaborative beer commemorating the fact that November 5th is the shared birthday of their respective head brewers.
Brewed on November 5th, 2012 by birthday boys Ryan Morrow (Nickel Brook) and Sam Corbeil (Sawdust City), the succinctly named 11.05 is a barley wine made with a variety of fruits and spices and then barrel-aged. The resulting 11.05% abv beer is described by Morrow as having “great complexity; fruits, spices, nice tartness, warming booze.”
A launch event for 11.05 and birthday party for Morrow and Corbeil will take place tomorrow night (November 5th) at Bar Hop (391 King St. W., Toronto). In addition to the debut keg of 11.05, the evening will feature five additional beers each – four on draught and one on cask – from Nickel Brook and Sawdust City.
11.05 will also be available on draught at other select bars and pubs throughout Ontario, including Pub Milos in London, Griffin Gastropub in Bracebridge, and The Arrow & Loon in Ottawa. A limited run of bottles will be released at the Nickel Brook retail store in Burlington starting at 11:00 AM tomorrow, selling for $16.95 per 750 ml bottle.
