CALGARY, AB – Big Rock Brewery has announced the release of the latest installment in the Alchemist Edition series of limited edition one-off beers.
Cuvée Bru is a Druivenbier, a beer-wine hybrid style that is rarely seen in North America. Brewed using three varieties of malt, Nelson Sauvin and El Dorado hops, and Pinot Gris grapes from Therapy Vineyards, it’s colourfully described as follows:
Big Rock’s new Cuvée Bru is an aristocratic repast for all five senses. When the dignified Pinot Gris grapes from the revered Therapy Vineyards join fortunes with a comely yet delicate ale, the end result is a ticklish yet modest bottle of pure refined luxury. The playful bubbles will tickle your soft palate, while the scent of sweet grape and gentle hints of honey float by your nose. Your ears will still be glowing from the celebratory pop of the exuberant cork bidding adieu to the imported Italian bottle. The golden-amber tint of this diaphanous delight may pique your thirsty eyes, but it is your taste buds that will be truly pampered with that first sip. This is true refined style, with the unmistakable splash of Big Rock refreshment.
Big Rock Cuvée Bru has been released in a limited run of 5300 corked & caged 750 ml bottles that will be available in select liquor stores in Alberta and BC while supplies last.
Or another words, a copy of Dogfish head Noble Rot..
which would have been a copy of DeuS (Brut Des Flandres)
Well, there’s no Botrytis infestation in those grapes and it’s not produced in the Champenoise method, as far as I know, so not really like either Noble Rot or Deus aside for some superficial similarities. Should still be interesting, though.
