OTTAWA, ON – Big Rig Brewery has announced the upcoming release of a festively spiced ale that promises to be a great choice for holiday season drinking.
Co-created by Big Rig brewmaster Lon Ladell and local beer writer and publican Jeff O’Reilly, Big Rig Gingerbread Porter is a 5.6% dark ale described as follows:
This brew is filled with rich gingerbread-y and malt-y deliciousness frolicking with notes of cinnamon, fancy molasses, vanilla, ginger, HO HO HO and a hint of chestnuts roasting on an open fire. This beer is a perfect and fitting tribute to the joy and wonder of Christmas (which can only be made that much better when served in pint sized portions of course!) Not as sweet as stealing a kiss under the mistletoe – but guaranteed to warm the heart of even the stingiest Grinch!
Gingerbread Porter will be debuted this Friday December 6th with a launch party at Big Rig from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. In addition to the regular version of the beer, a one-off cask of a special “Kahlua Candy Cane” edition will also be available during the launch.
UPDATE: In a follow-up tweet posted this afternoon, Ladell revealed that another limited edition beer – Triple Chocolate Cherry Imperial Milk Stout – will also be tapped on Friday.
