TORONTO, ON – Following quickly on the recent return of Beer Academy Belgian Maple, the Toronto-based brewery and beer education centre has announced the release of another dark and strong winter warmer.
Beer Academy Baltic Porter (9.3% abv) is a traditional take on the classic beer style, described as follows:
Baltic Porter was brewed with as much malt as we can fit in our mash tun. Literally! This combined with a large portion of dark, roasted and caramelized malt, as well as a clean fermenting lager yeast has created a richly flavoured Lager that resembles an Imperial Stout in complexity, but still shows off the smooth clean sensations of lager fermentation. Flavours of mocha, dark espresso, bakers chocolate and toffee are mouth-filling and lush with gently balancing bitterness leaning in to show bitter cocoa and cold coffee.
Baltic Porter is available now in 625 ml bottles at the Beer Academy retail store, and it will also be available on draught in the taproom as of next Wednesday December 18th.
A release party for Baltic Porter will take place on Thursday December 19th starting at 4:30 PM, featuring beer samples, food by CheeseWerks, and live music by Matthew Winkler.
