VICTORIA, BC – Spinnakers Gastro Brewpub has announced the upcoming release of a festive beer that shares the name of an earlier seasonal brand, but features a different beer in the bottle.
Happy New Beer is a name previously used for a Belgian-style wheat beer released in late December for the past few years. But for the 2013 edition, the name has been passed on to a Honey Kölsch, which is described as follows:
To celebrate another year gone by, we have brewed a special version of our Tour de Victoria Kölsch-style ale. This beer is brewed with German hops, Canadian Pilsen malts, and has locally sourced honey added to the boil for a clean, easy drinking beer with just a touch of honey sweetness in the finish. Champagne glasses anyone?
Spinnakers Happy New Beer Honey Kölsch will be available soon on draught and in growlers at the Spinnakers brewpub, and in bottles at select liquor stores in BC.
