KENORA, ON – 107 years after the Kenora Thistles hockey club defeated the Montreal Wanderers to win the Stanley Cup, Kenora’s Lake of the Woods Brewing has released a new limited edition beer to commemorate the victory.
1907 Scottish Cream Ale (4.0% abv, 15 IBU) is described as follows:
This is a mild ale made using traditional ingredients. Hop use is minimal and heather flowers have been used instead for bittering and aroma. Pale Ale malt is used as a base in addition to Wheat, Rye and Oat. Cara-Crystal Wheat contributes caramel and toffee flavours as well as body and head retention. Rye adds a distinct spice. Oat is used for body and head retention. The beer is light, easy to drink, yet still thought provoking.
1907 Scottish Cream Ale was released yesterday, and is available now on tap in the Lake of the Woods brewpub and in growlers for take-home sales.
