TORONTO, ONGreat Lakes Brewery has announced the latest release in the Tank Ten series of limited edition beers, with local beer writer Ben Johnson breaking the news via his blog earlier this week, and the brewery subsequently following up with a full announcement.

Harry Porter & The Bourbon Soaked Vanilla Bean is a 6% abv flavoured porter that has been available in limited amounts on draught and at the brewery in the past, but which will now be receiving a wider release. It’s described as follows:

Dark black in colour, which provides a lovely creamy mocha head, it’s very attractive porter that is full of wonderful aromatics of fresh vanilla bean, dark cocoa, coffee and a touch of hazelnut. The medium body porter raises eyebrows with every sip as flavours of vanilla, traces of bourbon, roasted coffee bean, and dark chocolate all mingle together nicely in the glass. Velvety smooth with a dry finish, the Harry Porter & the Bourbon Soaked Vanilla Bean is a definite crowd pleaser and pairs wonderfully with rich desserts.

Harry Porter & The Bourbon Soaked Vanilla Bean will be officially released with a launch party at The Loose Moose (146 Front St. W., Toronto) on Thursday, February 6th starting at 7:00 PM. It will be available to sample in both keg and cask versions, alongside several other flavour variations including Harry Porter & The Fairgrounds Coffee Bean, another version to be revealed that night, and the original unflavoured Harry Porter.

Later in February, Harry Porter & The Bourbon Soaked Vanilla Bean will be released at select LCBO locations, where it will retail for $5.95 per 650 ml bottle while supplies last.
