SURREY, BC – Just in time for World Autism Awareness Day 2014, Surrey’s Central City Brewing has announced the release of this year’s edition of Red Racer Imperial IPA for Autism.
The limited edition 9% abv and 90 IBU ale is described as follows:
Red Racer Imperial IPA is dry hopped with whole leaf hops from the Yakima Valley, combined with Maris Otter English barley, which is floor-malted in age old tradition. A long maturation ensures plenty of flavour, with strong aromatics of grapefruit, tangerine and mango. Best enjoyed lightly chilled, this exquisite ale will coat your palate with a sensational lasting bitterness.
Over 2000 cases of 650 ml bottles of the benefit beer were released today to liquor stores throughout British Columbia, with $2 from each bottle sold to be donated to Autism research. Central City has also released limited edition Imperial IPA for Autism glassware that will be sold at select restaurants, pubs, and bars in B.C. for $5.00 each, with all profits going toward the same cause.
To cap off this year’s fundraising campaign, Central City and Simon Fraser University will be holding a black-tie benefit gala on May 24, 2014, featuring live and silent auctions, canapés, craft beverages, and live entertainment. Tickets for the gala are $100 each and can be reserved via the event page on the Central City website.
