CALGARY, AB – Three weeks after recalling most of its growlers due to a manufacturing defect that could cause them to leak or explode, Village Brewery has announced that a new and safe batch of the 1.89 litre jugs has been released – and to thank the local community for their support during the transition, the brewery has also announced a promotion that will raise money for local theatre groups.
5,000 new growlers have been put into circulation, and each of them features a sticker encouraging the customer to visit the Growlers of Good website, enter the unique code from the sticker, and choose from one of three Calgary theatre companies – Swallow-A-Bicycle, Loose Moose Theatre and Green Fools/Ghost River – to receive a $1 donation. Assuming all of the codes are used, Village will donate a total of $5,000 amongst the three recipient groups.
