CALGARY, AB – The Calgary Herald reports that after almost a year of having its beers brewed under contract at Dead Frog Brewery in B.C., Tool Shed Brewing has signed a lease on an industrial space in Calgary for its own brewing facility.
Owners Graham Sherman and Jeff Orr tell Herald beer columnist Jason van Rassel that changes to the minimum production requirements for beers in Alberta that were implemented in December allowed them to scale down their original vision for the brewery, which in turn sped up plans to open their own location.
Tool Shed has commissioned DME Brewing Solutions in PEI to build a 25 hectolitre brewing system, which is expected to be installed at the industrial unit at 801 30th St. N.E. in Calgary within a few weeks.
Progress reports on the brewery will likely be posted on the Tool Shed Facebook page.
