KELOWNA, BC – Tree Brewing has announced the release of two new limited edition beers, one the first in a new series of unfiltered one-offs, and the other a new vintage of a unique barrel-aged brew.
The RAW Series is a new initiative that will focus on unfiltered variations on select beers from the Tree portfolio. First up in the series is RAW India Pale Ale, which is described as follows:
It displays an aroma of pronounced grapefruit leading to a full flavoured well hopped brew balanced with intense citrus flavours and a dry finish. Although the recipe is similar to our signature Hop Head IPA, the RAW is a little more jacked up, sitting at 64 IBU and 6.3% ABV. Enjoy your RAW IPA with curries, strong cheeses and sweet desserts.
Returning in a new edition is Redwood Wine Barrel Aged Ale, a limited release brand that was first available in fall 2012, and which returned in a second edition last spring. The latest vintage has the following notes:
Hand crafted in collaboration with the award winning Quails’ Gate Vineyards. Our Signature beer – Hop Head India Pale Ale – was allowed to mature for over nine months in used French Oak barrels that previously aged their award winning Marechal Foch. During the final stages of maturation, red wine was infused to create a truly unique brew. The resulting taste profile is complex and unique, displaying aromas of red fruit, citrus, light oak and subdued vanilla leading to flavours of grapefruit, with earthy and toasted oak notes. The finish is dry and accentuated by a pleasant and crisp hop bitterness.
Redwood is being launched today, and RAW IPA will be released next Monday May 5th. Both will be available at the Tree retail store and select private liquor stores in B.C. while supplies last.
