SHELBURNE, NS – Boxing Rock Brewing has announced the upcoming release of a new beer that’s brewed in a style never before produced commercially in Nova Scotia.
La Rive du Sud Bière de Garde is a 7.5% abv French farmhouse-style ale that is described as follows:
Made with simple base malts and dark caramelized sugar this seemingly simple combination of ingredients yields an ale of noteworthy complexity. With notes of biscuit, caramel, toffee, as well as tangerine, peach, nutmeg, clove and allspice. We lagered (well, guarded, actually) this ale for weeks until it was perfect. It’s remarkably smooth on the palate and although it has a dry finish, it has a lingering spicy aftertaste that invites you to take another sip.
Boxing Rock La Rive du Sud will debut this coming weekend at Bar Stillwell in Halifax, after which it will be available at the brewery in 650 ml bottles and 1 litre growlers, and on tap at select bars and pubs while supplies last.
