CALEDON, ON – Spirit Tree Estate Cidery has announced the release of a unique limited edition cider to mark 5 years as one of the leading players in Ontario’s burgeoning craft cider industry.
Spirit Tree 5th Anniversary Dry-Hopped Cider is described as follows:
Crafted from cider produced from our 2013 apple harvest, and organically grown Ontario hops, our Dry-Hopped cider is the first in the line of new small batch craft ciders to be released. Historically, hops were used as a natural preservative in cider. It imparts a bitterness that elevates the fruit character and increases the body and mouthfeel. On consultation with Ontario hop growers, we selected a combination of Chinook & Cascade hops to complement our cider. Dry hopped for 4 days & lightly filtered – this cider will surprise beer & cider enthusiasts alike.
A launch party for the new cider will be held next Friday May 30th at Toronto’s barVolo (587 Yonge Street), where it will be available to sample alongside other Spirit Tree products including draught cider, New England cider, pear cider, applelager, crabapple cider and 2013 estate reserve.
In addition to celebrating the 5th anniversary of Spirit Tree, the party will also serve as a precursor to the 1st annual Ontario Cider Week, which will run from June 2nd to 7th at various venues in Toronto.
